How to Use Reinventing Journalism in a Newsroom
When I first conceived the idea for my paper on Reinventing Journalism at First Monday, I was thinking BIG, of reinventing on a macro level, but now I am more inclined to think about it on a micro level. I wish news media organizations would walk through it point by point to see how they are doing their work now and then ask how they will do it in the future.
Tom Abate, a report and blogger, does that kind of noodling at his blog MiniMediaGuy. What he is doing at the blog I wish was happening in newsrooms themselves. Maybe Abate could be the catalyst at his paper. And maybe you can be the catalyst at your newspaper or broadcast organization. You can make BIG things happen even on a micro level.
