Former Wonkette Named Time.com Washington Editor
Here is an excellent measure of the power the blogosphere is having on Mainstream Media. Ad Age reports:
Time.com seems ready to embrace its inner snark. Wonkette alum Ana Marie Cox, who joined the magazine this past March as a contributing writer, has been named Washington editor of Time.com. Her appointment is effective July 31.
“While I’m proud to work for a magazine with the history and reputation of Time, I’m also eager to help expand their political coverage into the more raucous and opinionated world of online debate,” said Ms. Cox in an e-mail. “I’m even more eager to combine my own voice and the sterling reporting the magazine is known for to create compelling stories about political figures and movements.”“While I’m proud to work for a magazine with the history and reputation of Time, I’m also eager to help expand their political coverage into the more raucous and opinionated world of online debate,” said Ms. Cox in an e-mail. “I’m even more eager to combine my own voice and the sterling reporting the magazine is known for to create compelling stories about political figures and movements.”

Excellent? Proud? Wait ’til the bloom’s off that rose. As I commented in BuzzMachine, I shall re-comment here:
Yeah, wait âtil they try to send her to one of those Outward Bound For Geeks corporate âexperiencesâ and ask her, peppily of course, to âCome on Ana Marie, think outside the box! Let your co-workers catch you as you fall!!! Itâs all about the team!!!â Wait until those memos to insert more smiley faces start circulating from on high. Heck, just one good âWe donât do that hereâ and sheâll be praying for her crappy pay, her solitude and pjs more than Hillary wishs sheâd have baked more cookies.
