Newspaper Next: A Blueprint for Transformation?

So I saw that the American Press Institute’s Newspaper Next year long project has now delivered its findings in a report entitled “Newspaper Next: Blueprint for Transformation.”

I was hoping to read through the blueprint and put some excerpts up here. But alas, and I think this is a very, very bad sign, the only way to get the report was to email the API and request an electronic copy.

Email for a copy? Why not just post it. Share it. Make it viral.

My first thought: sell your stocks now. Ah but foolish me, maybe this is the blueprint for transformation, rather than getting a delivery boy to throw it onto my front porch they have discovered they can email it to me. Who says the newspaper industry is behind the curve?

I wonder if USA Today had to email them for its copy?
