Reuters Starts Africa Oriented Website
Reuters launched a web site aimed at Africa today, with lots of citizen media input. Mark Glaser at MediaShift has details, plus an interview about citizen journalism with Reuters’ president, Chris Ahearn.
The Africa site wiil have its own citizen media connection, Glaser writes:
Many people believe the news media has barely scratched the surface of life in Africa, only reporting on the most devastating news in the region. Global Voices , a blog aggregator that covers the world outside of Europe and America, will be a part of that new Reuters Africa site, which will link to Global Voices coverage from within its country pages.
