College Students Look at Future of Journalism
Bryan Murley and friends have been busy blogging last week’s the Future of Journalism conference sponsored by Center for Innovation in College Media. Earlier he wrote:
More than 100 students and advisers from 17 states and 30 colleges are coming to Nashville for CICM’s “Future of Journalism” workshop. Ole Miss’ Arvinder Kang provides a Google map of participating schools.
Among the posts is a short video with Gannett’s Jennifer Carroll, who basically says the newsroom message is get with the Information Center plan or get lost. Here is a former student right out of college who gets a plum job because she knows new media. Here are comments from Washington Post – Newsweek Interactive VP, Mark Whitaker, who tells print students to learn video and audio.
