Cole Campbell Named Journalism Dean at U of Nevada

Cole Campbell, one of the nation’s top proponents, practicioners and scholars in public journalism, has been named dean of journalism at the University of Nevada, Reno. Watch for a Special IM Interview in the next day or two here at PJNet with Campbell.

Campbell is a charter member of the PJNet, moderated the organization’s first forums and the charter meeting itself.

“I think that the journalism school here has the real chance to brand the school and its graduates as ‘thinking journalists,’” Campbell told Nevada students, according to the school of journalism web site.

Campbell, now a fellow at the Kettering Foundation, is the former editor of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch and The Virginian-Pilot in Norfolk, Va.
