Ethan Zuckerman and the Pea Patch Meetup
Anyone who blogs and links to others knows that lots of social networking takes place online and that often gravitates to offline face-to-face meetups. This past weekend I was in Williamstown, Massachusetts meeting with Bill Densmore, one of the co-sponsors along with the PJNet.org, for the upcoming Journalism that Matters conference Aug. 7-8, 2007 at George Washington University in D.C.
Bill took me over to the local Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) farm to pick some strawberries and peas. On the path to the pea patch, Bill stops to greet a fellow picker. My god, its Ethan Zuckerman from Global Voices. Small world. Of course, it also shows that many of us bloggers come out of the same socio-economic classes and even think enough alike that we can bump into each other in a tiny farm in a tiny New England town.
By the way, speaking of networking we have a stellar group of people coming to the Journalism that Matters conference. Registration is still open.
