Hi Jill and Dave:

Back in 2005 Arthur Sulzberger, Jr, The New York Times publisher, told New Yorker writer Ken Auletta:

“My job is simple. My job is to work with ... all of our colleagues and turn this great company, this institution, into something that will flourish in a digital age. I’m going to be judged on that. I’m not going to be judged on this story or that.”

Well it looks like he won over his marketing copy writers, sort of. Remember, they are making the proclamation in print, they should be doing it word-of-mouth as is happening here. On the other hand, maybe we are doing it for them.

Dave - I think it's occupying more than the space of just the edge - if not at least creeping further into the main fabric?

Something tells me the blogosphere is on the cutting edge of reshaping journalism... but is that bad or good?

Leonard! This post made me grab my NYT and look - I only scanned the first section so I haven't seen that ad yet but I did see the ad for Paper Cuts - "All the news that's fit to blog" - woohoo! :) Maybe they've been running that a while - I don't know - but it was fun to see.
