Witt Blogging Again at PJNet
I blogged here at the PJNet regularly from 2003 until last year when I began putting my energies into getting the Center for Sustainable Journalism up and running after receiving a generous gift from the Harnisch Foundation under the direction of Ruth Ann Harnisch.
Now in the next few weeks the Center will be announcing several projects that play into its mission “to ensure that high quality, ethically sound journalism continues to have a vibrant place in our democracy.”
The projects include incubating new journalism initiatives, one of which is directly related to my Representative Journalism concept, now called community supported journalism. It’s the Juvenile Justice Information Exchange and our soft, Beta launch will be later this week. I will announce it here.
The Center is also helping produce two journalism change conferences. The first Journalism Schools as News Providers: Challenges and Opportunities is being produced with Baruch College and will be held August 3 at the AEJMC convention in Denver. The second Media Law in the Digital Age will be held on the Kennesaw State University campus on September 25, mark your calendar. It is being produced in partnership with the Berkman Center for Internet & Society at Harvard University.
I will be posting more information about each as I get back up to blogging speed. So I have been busy, just not blogging about it. Now I am aiming to get back to blogging here at least several times a week, if not daily.
