Radio Reporter Producer
Candidate Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Broadcast Communications, or related field required.
* Five years of professional level experience in radio, news, or program production, or a related broadcast field required or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
* Strong writing and production skills.
* A confident, personable on-air presence.
* Online content production and publishing preferred.
* Knowledge and use of social media outlets expected.
* Public Radio experience preferred.
Job Responsibilities Include:
* Writes and produces a variety of news content, conducts in-depth interviews, newscasts, and news related programs.
* Writes and edits news copy, and scripts for segments, interviews, or programs for multiple platforms including announcing or hosting on-air broadcasts.
* Researches and investigates story content for newscasts, or news related programs; organizes and develops story ideas; and plans future news content.
* Creates and produces final taped audio segments, discussions, or materials to be used in story or program and prepares promotional material.
* Performs research on individuals, stories, special events, or documentary subjects to collect in depth background, details, and information prior to interviews or writing material.
* Produces and/or directs daily newscasts, public affairs programs, program segments, weekly extended news programs, documentaries or feature stories.
* Hosts content as needed.
* Participates in station fundraising.
