Follow city meetings with video plus transcripts
One simple way to monitor your local governing bodies is to demand that they follow the lead of the City of Keene, New Hampshire. Their council meetings are videoed with a running annotated list pinpointing what was said throughout the video.
Anyone who wants to see how an item was addressed can click on the annotated reference and go quickly to the place in the video. See it here? It is a big time saver and search facilitator.
It was a government sunlight tip provided at a League of Women Voters presentation today by Steven Clift , founder and director of E-Democracy.Org.

What an innovation!
Of course dorablog.org has been recording and reporting on Doraville city council meetings for some time and a couple of years ago broke the story that the council fired the police chief because of his duty in Iraq. Their coverage was picked by practically all the local tv outlets.
Will there ever come a day, Len, when you will recognize the achievements in your own back yard instead of staring starry eyed at things in the distance?
