City Hall bloggers
Eden Praire, MN, a large suburb in the Twin Cities, now has two city hall bloggers:
City Manager Scott Neal (The Blog from City Hall) and Police Chief Dan Carlson (Chief Blogger).
I don’t know of any other city or county in the country that has either its chief executive or its chief law enforcement officer keeping a weblog and this city has both.
Their blogging may not fit within the traditional definition of civic journalism but if citizens-as-publishers are good for what ails democracy, why not public-servants-as-publishers?
