Slate Launches Experimental Multimedia Lab

Slate launched its new Slate Labs yesterday. Its Welcome statement says:

…this site will serve as a home base for all of Slate’s experiments with multimedia journalism. We’ve been doing a lot of them over the past few years, so we’ve collected a gallery of our favorite interactives from the Slate archives. To keep things fresh, we’re also posting projects currently in development that we could use some help figuring out how to use effectively. Check out the first of these projects, called “Plain English,” and let us know what you think. We hope to start working with more readers who have bright ideas—actually, any ideas—for new projects or ways to repackage the ones on this site.

Here is more information at MediaBistro.
