Batten Award Finalists Announced

The five finalists for the Batten Awards for Innovation in Journalism include projects produce by public broadcasting’s POV Interactive, KQED in San Francisco, the Canadian Broadcast Corporation, The Providence Journal and USAToday.com. The $10,000 award winner will be announced in September. More information about the projects can be found at the University of Maryland’s J-Lab, which administers the awards. Jan Schaffer, of the J-Lab, will do a show and tell on the finalist projects at our Exploring the Fusion Power of Public and Participatory Journalism conference on Aug. 3 in Toronto.
