Toronto Globe and Mail Touts PJNet Conference

There was an excellent article in the Toronto Globe and Mail about blogging and the PJNet’s Exploring the Fusion Power of Public and Participatory Journalism conference which takes place tomorrow, Tuesday, Aug. 3, in Toronto.

I said in the article, “a good blog is almost like a strong piece of research with footnotes. And in some ways it’s more legitimate than a newspaper because it explains where its information is coming from.”

Warren Kinsella, a Toronto-based lawyer, author, and blogger, says, “Blogging is, you know, punk-rock media. It’s Do It Yourself. It’s ’screw you’ authority.”

So take your pick. It is both.

Watch both Kinsella and me and Dan Gillmor, Jay Rosen, Jeff Jarvis, David Akin , Hossein Derakhshan (Hoder), and Rebecca MacKinnon as we all blog from the conference Tuesday. .
