With all the attention blogging has gotten since the Democratic National Convention, our Exploring the Fusion Power of Public and Participatory Journalism conference today in Toronto could not be more timely.

Really what we will be dealing with is the quote below, that appeared in the Sunday New York Times. It’s just perfect.

Orville Schell, dean of the graduate journalism program at the University of California, Berkley, when talking about blogs, said, “Obviously, the official media don’t quite know how to deport themselves in relation to blogs. If they adopt them, it’s like having a spastic arm—they can’t control it. But if they don’t adopt it, they’re missing out on the newest, edgiest trend in the media.”
