Small Start-up Seeks Public Journalism Models

I received an email request for advice from Tom White, a publisher launching Social Enterprise Reporter: News and Innovations for Nonprofit Entrepreneurs. He writes:

I am seeking referrals to public journalism models for business journalists. Have the tenets of public journalism been translated and used successfully in business, trade or commercial publishing? I am launching the Social Enterprise Reporter, an online business newsletter for nonprofit entrepreneurs that will provide news and innovative ideas for sustaining social/civic programs through earned-income and private-sector partnerships. The Reporter will combine some of the tenets central to public journalism, involving readers and reporting on solutions to civic problems, with practical how-to business advice for making non-profits and civil sector organizations more self-sustainable. E-mail: tom@sereporter.com.
