At 9:00 a.m. – Blogging and Participatory Reporting: The New Journalism?

CBS News’ faulty reporting has arguably damaged traditional journalism’s credibility, especially since the truth about President Bush’s National Guard documents was rooted out by bloggers. Leonard Witt, the Robert D. Fowler Distinguished Chair and assistant professor of communications at Kennesaw State University; Janice McDonald, president of J-Mac Productions and Christian Science Monitor blogger for the 2004 Olympics; Dana Blankenhorn, veteran journalist, blogger and author; and Mike King, columnist and public editor for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution will discuss how blogs and other forms of new media are currently changing the face of journalism.
