Today I hosted eight Moldavian visitors to the United States and told them the story about public journalism and about how things are changing rapidly in the world of mass media. One of the visitors at the end of my 90 minute talk and blog demonstration asked if the end was in sight for the mass news media.

I told them I did not know, but provided him the Jay Rosen quote: “The age of the mass media is just that – an age. It doesn’t have to last forever.”

Apparently Rosen doesn’t have the answer either, but at Press Think, his weblog, he has raised lots of interesting questions about the state of the media today, which in turn has started a very interesting discussion. It is worth a visit.
