Two Communication Openings at Kennesaw State

The Communication Department here at Kennesaw State University has two positions open that academics visiting the PJNet might be interested in.

One is for department chair. Here is a partial job description:

The University seeks an individual to facilitate program expansion and development that will eventually include a master’s degree. The Chair will be expected to help strengthen the department’s ties with the professional communication community and cultivate external support for departmental activities.

The other is for an assistant professor in mass communication. The job description in part says:

Responsibilities include teaching required undergraduate mass communication courses, contributing to the teaching of other Communication courses, performing service duties and maintaining scholarly productivity. Ability to teach news writing required. Newsroom or broadcast experience and Internet content development preferred. Ability to teach in one or more of these areas is also required: media effects; media regulation and ethics; new technologies; media economics; media impact on society; research methods; international media; citizen, public, or community journalism.

Kennesaw State University, Georgia ’s third largest public university with 18,000 students, has more than 550 students majoring in communication. KSU is located in the burgeoning suburbs of metro Atlanta.
