Request: Help Save Quality Journalism in Croatia
I received this requested from Stjepan Malovic, director of the International Center for Education of Journalists, Dubrovnik University Study of Media and Culture of Society, Opatija, Croatia:
Croatia is losing quality newspapers. Global media companies are buying existing publishing companies and developing tabloids only. We would like to preserve at least one newspaper as a public newspaper, so we have at least one independent, balanced and impartial daily newspaper. Do you know of any similar examples?
If you have any information, you can post it here as a comment or email it directly on to Malovic. His email is stjepan.malovic@icej.hr . This might be the case where they study the citizen journalism example at places like OhmyNews in South Korea or even a new attempt in South Africa.
Of course, in the USA we are asking the same question: How can we preserve quality journalism?
