Preserving Southern Cooking with Audience Help

The Atlanta Journal Constitution launched its: Saving Southern Food series.

It has participation from readers and chefs, plus a blog. But I find the net presence a little pedestrian. It is the kind of subject that I think would inspire lots more interaction if the AJC were a little more aggressive.

The site led me to the Southern Food Alliance’s Oral History Initiative, where volunteers go out and do interviews of folks who have kept the Southern food tradition alive. One of these days I am going to make a road trip to the BBQ trail between Memphis and Nashville.
